INSTALLATION OF TECHPAVE-R AT URMSTON LEISURE CENTRE

TCS Geotechnics were approached via one of our merchant partners to consult directly with their client to offer assistance in finding a solution for a permeable car park. The project was part of a £7 million redevelopment scheme of Urmston Leisure Centre in Manchester. The aim of the redevelopment was to transform the former 1980’s leisure centre into a vibrant, modern complex, fit for Urmston and the wider Trafford community.

The brief for the project was to create a hard-standing car park using an environmentally friendly product that could offer an effective solution for surface water. TCS Geotechnics discussed all requirements with the Contractor and the Techpave R polymer paving system was chosen. The client approved Techpave R for the project citing the excellent water permeability, the reduced risk of potholing or rutting and the reduction in carbon footprint offered over traditional methods as key points in their decision.

Following receipt of order from our merchant customer Techpave R was supplied to the site alongside TNW1100 non-woven geotextile which was used to provide a permeable separation and filtration layer. The installation was completed within hours and the workers on site specifically mentioned how quick and easy the Techpave R was to install. We spoke with the client once the project was completed and they were very happy with the final finish and informed us they would certainly look to use Techpave R for future projects.
