CONGRATULATIONS TO IAN FRASER

TCS Geotechnics would like you to join us in congratulating our Technical Director, Ian Fraser on his recent appointment as the Chair of BSI technical committee B553 – Geosynthetics. Ian has been working as a member of the committee for many years and is pleased to pick up the mantle from the previous Chair, Steve Corbet  The committee not only oversees British Standards associated with geosynthetics but is also the UK mirror committee for European Standards via CEN and International standards via ISO. Ian noted ‘Standardisation is vital to the maintenance of safety and quality but also provides the market with informed access to economically & sustainably beneficial products and systems. I believe we must always be careful to implement standardisation in a manner that does not stifle innovation nor drive commoditisation of products or systems to the extent that future improvement and development is effectively discouraged.’
